The base and gear components are made from high-quality aluminum bronze, a material with significantly higher strength than the bronze commonly used in marine applications. Bearings, shafts, and pawls are all made from stainless steel.
All Andersen winches feature the proven Power Ribs, allowing sheets to be eased in a controlled and material-friendly manner as they slide over the drum. The manufacturing process developed by Andersen is currently exclusive to Andersen in Vejle, Denmark.
